With The Art of Self Direction you will learn
- how to expand your awareness of yourself and your surroundings;
- how to notice your habitual patterns of thinking and moving; and
- a simple way to consciously choose a new and better way to respond.
Every introductory lesson will cover the same basic material: a few facts about human anatomy that you need to know in order to function well; and basic principles of human movement, drawn primarily from the work of F.M. Alexander. You will then have an opportunity to practice what you have learned. By the end of the class, you will be able to use these ideas to improve the quality of anything you do.
